Class 58 models in ‘OO’ gauge

The first company to produce the Class 58 in a ready-to-run (RTR) form was Hornby. Although released in various guises, this model (albeit perhaps slightly basic for today’s modellers) was for a long time the only OO gauge RTR Class 58 on the market.

Over the last few months though, Heljan have come to the fore with their new Class 58 model in an attempt to update the scene with a handful of brand new examples in various liveries. The next two pages are dedicated to the Class 58 models produced by both Hornby and Heljan.
